Frequently asked questions
What is a fiber optic keystone coupler used for?
It's a feed-through adapter that snaps into a keystone-cut wall plate or patch panel, letting you connect two pre-terminated fiber optic cables end to end at a wall or rack location, rather than running one continuous fiber run.

What's the difference between multimode and singlemode fiber?
Multimode fiber has a larger core and is typically used for shorter runs (up to a few hundred meters) common in LANs and data centers. Singlemode fiber has a smaller core and supports much longer runs, common in campus and long-haul connections. The coupler itself doesn't convert between the two — both connected cables need to use the same fiber type.

What's the difference between duplex and simplex fiber couplers?
Duplex couplers (like the LC-LC options) connect two fiber strands at once, typically one for transmit and one for receive. Simplex couplers (like the SC-SC and ST-ST options) connect a single fiber strand.
