I inherited a new computer when my mother recently died. It has VGA and DVI-D video outputs but not HDMI. My Dell touch screen monitor uses an HDMI input, which my old, failing computer had. I started looking at PCI Express video cards to provide the missing HDMI output and they weren't too expensive -- in the $40 to $100 range for non-gamer cards. But then I saw an ad for the DVI-D male to HDMI female adapter. It was just what I needed and with shipping was only $8.22. SOLD! All I had to do was insert the adapter into the DVI-D output, screw it down, and then insert one end of my HDMI cable into the female HDMI socket on the adapter and the other end into the HDMI female socket on the monitor. It worked without even needing to reboot the computer. And I have touch screen back. I recommend this adapter highly if you have a similar problem.
