Each Faceplate is supplied with a plastic coating which protects the finish and should be removed once the plate is installed.

I bought these after trying another brand which didn't have room for the Cat6 RJ-45 keystones. These have plenty of room and appear to be very well made and durable. Another note: Computer Cable Store was very responsive to a question I had regarding out of state taxes.
