Frequently asked questions
What is a Cat6 patch panel used for?
A Cat6 patch panel provides a fixed termination point for network cabling in a rack or wall-mount enclosure, letting you organize and label incoming Cat6 runs and patch them to switches or other equipment with short patch cables instead of running long cables directly.

What's the difference between a punch-down Cat6 patch panel and a Cat6 feed-through patch panel?
A punch-down patch panel terminates bulk Cat6 cable directly onto 110-type punch-down blocks on the back of the panel, with RJ45 jacks on the front. A feed-through (or coupler) patch panel has RJ45 jacks on both the front and back, so a pre-terminated Cat6 cable simply plugs into the back instead of being punched down.

What does 110 punch-down mean?
110 punch-down is a termination style where individual conductor wires are pressed into slotted connectors with a punch-down tool, rather than crimped into a plug. It's the standard termination method for standard Cat6 patch panels.

Are these Cat6 patch panels rack mount or wall mount?
