Networx™ DB9/HD15 Plastic Hood's are great when constructing your own custom length DB9 Serial or Parallel, as well as HD15 VGA or HDTV cables. Use in conjunction with our DB9 or HD15 Connectors for a quality, durable connection. Our Hoods include all the necessary hardware for assembly. The term Video Graphics Array (VGA) refers specifically to the display hardware first introduced with the IBM PS/2 line of computers in 1987, but through its widespread adoption has also come to mean either an analog computer display standard, the 15-pin D-subminiature VGA connector or the 640×480 resolution itself. While this resolution has been superseded in the personal computer market, it is becoming a popular resolution on mobile devices. High-definition television (or HDTV) is a digital television broadcasting system with higher resolution than traditional television systems (standard-definition TV, or SDTV). HDTV is digitally broadcast; the earliest implementations used analog broadcasting, but today digital television (DTV) signals are used, requiring less bandwidth due to digital video compression.
