NTI unveils new DVI extender via single-strand fiber-optic cableCreated: 7/23/2010 3:44:29 PMNetwork Technologies recently announced a new product to its line of DVI extenders that is compliant with fiber-optic cables.
The Xtendex DVI Extender via fiber-optic cables locates a single link digital DVI display from a computer that uses an SC multimode fiber-optic cable. The extender functions up to 3,280 feet away from the computer and includes a transmitter that connects to a computer, in addition to a receiver that connects to a monitor.
The device is capable of processing resolutions up to 1920 X 1200 and feature EDID learning to make it functional with any DVI display device.
Because the device uses fiber-optic cables, it can send signals seamlessly and quickly without being inhibited by RF interference. The extenders small size makes it an ideal choice for many users looking to enhance their connections without worrying about a bulky and intrusive device.
Fiber-optic cables have increasingly become more prevalent in home entertainment systems and large-scale broadband networks. Because they can transmit data over long distances with little interruption, and have a large bandwidth capacity, they have become the cable of choice for many network installers.
