This Hi-Speed USB hub allows the USB bus signal to be split from 1 down stream signal to 4 upstream signals allowing for the bus to provide for either a fully powered Hi-speed port for all USB peripherals to work properly or a bus powered hub for all low or self powered devices. The hub can be powered by a 5 volt 2 amp AC to DC power adapter supplies the full 5 volts, 500 milliamps per port. In information technology, Universal Serial Bus (USB) is a serial bus standard to connect devices to a host computer. USB was designed to allow many peripherals to be connected using a single standardized interface socket and to improve plug and play capabilities by allowing hot swapping; that is, by allowing devices to be connected and disconnected without rebooting the computer or turning off the device.
