ATEN’s multi-function KVM Switch represents a new direction in KVM technology. In addition to allowing you to control of two computers using a single VGA monitor, USB keyboard and mouse, It also includes a built-in USB 2.0 hub, Ethernet 10/100 hub, and audio sharing capabilities. The built-in USB 2.0 High Speed hub, allows you to share your USB peripherals and transfer data at up to 480 Mbps between a computer and storage media. The audio ports allow you to share one set of speakers and microphone among your computers. To complement your KVM setup, ATEN’s CS1772 provides a full-featured Ethernet 10/100 hub that helps eliminate some of the components that collect around, and on your desk. The CS1772 ‘s ethernet hub incorporates 10/100 Mbps auto-sensing, and is fully compliant with 802.3 networking standard. In information technology, Universal Serial Bus (USB) is a serial bus standard to connect devices to a host computer. USB was designed to allow many peripherals to be connected using a single standardized interface socket and to improve plug and play capabilities by allowing hot swapping; that is, by allowing devices to be connected and disconnected without rebooting the computer or turning off the device. Other convenient features include providing power to low-consumption devices, eliminating the need for an external power supply; and allowing many devices to be used without requiring manufacturer-specific device drivers to be installed. The term Video Graphics Array (VGA) refers specifically to the display hardware first introduced with the IBM PS/2 line of computers in 1987, but through its widespread adoption has also come to mean either an analog computer display standard, the 15-pin D-subminiature VGA connector or the 640×480 resolution itself. While this resolution has been superseded in the personal computer market, it is becoming a popular resolution on mobile devices.
