TIA/EIA-568-B.1-2001 is likely the most commonly used and talked about feature of
the specification created in 1988. 568-a is the definition of pin assignments for
the the pairs within Category 3 (CAT3), Category
5 (CAT5) and Category 6 (CAT6) unshielded
twisted-pair (UTP) cables (eight conductor, 100-ohm balanced twisted pair cabling).
The Pin/Pair assignments were named T568A and T568b, both of which define the pinout
or specific order the UTP pairs need to be terminated within 8P8C (Eight Position,
Eight Conductor) modular connecters, also known as RJ45 connectors.

Modular Connectors
Cat5e Modular Connectors - RJ45 - Shielded - 100 pack
ComputerCableStore⢠CAT5e Modular Connectors - RJ45 - Shielded - 100 pack are perfect for building custom length Shielded Cat5e network cables. Our Shielded CAT5e modular Load-Bar connectors are manufactured from a clear poly-carbonate and built to withstand everyday abuse. With our quality Shielded Connectors you can expect error free data transfer. Cat 5 e cable is an enhanced version of Cat 5 that adds specifications for far end crosstalk. It was formally defined in 2001 as the TIA/EIA-568-B standard, which no longer recognizes the original Cat 5 specification. Although 1000BASE-T was designed for use with Cat 6 cable, the tighter specifications associated with Cat 5e cable and connectors make it an excellent choice for use with 1000BASE-T ethernet networks. The 8 Position 8 Contact (8P8C) (often called RJ45) plugs and sockets are most regularly used as an ethernet connector. 8P8C connectors are typically used to terminate twisted pair cable.
