This 2 FT Booted CAT6 Network Patch Cable - Purple is idea for use in a performance demanding high speed Gigabit network while remaining fully backward compatible with your existing 10/100 Fast Ethernet network. High speed Category 6 (Cat 6) patch cables can also be used as an assurance that your existing Fast Ethernet network is performing at it best! This 2 FT Booted CAT6 Network Patch Cable - Purple is carefully constructed using a high quality 250 MHz Cat 6 bulk cable, which consists of 4 unshielded twisted pairs, 24 AWG stranded conductors, and a durable rich colored PVC jacket. These Gigabit rated Cat 6 patch cables easily handle bandwidth intensive applications plus they are UL certified patch cables that meet all the TIA/EIA standards. Terminated with short body RJ45 plugs that contain 8 gold plated contacts with 50 microns of gold plating each keep ear-end Crosstalk (NEXT) interference levels to a minimum. The molded, snag less boot design prevents unwanted cable snags during installation/maintenance processes plus provides extra strain-relief making the cable more durable. The 8 Position 8 Contact (8P8C) (often called RJ45) plugs and sockets are most regularly used as an ethernet connector. 8P8C connectors are typically used to terminate twisted pair cable. A patch cable or patch cord (sometimes patchcable or patchcord) is an electrical or optical cable, used to connect ("patch-in") one electronic or optical device to another for signal routing. Devices of different types (ie: a switch connected to a computer, or switch to router) are connected with patch cords. Patch cords are usually produced in many different colours so as to be easily distinguishable, and are relatively short, perhaps no longer than two metres.
