Getting the most out of today's Ethernet and Gigabit networks requires using cabling that's up to the task of pushing your data along as fast as your modems, routers, switches, patch panels and adapters will allow, and this ten-foot, booted CAT5e network Patch Cable can easily accommodate your network's needs. Networx™ cables are built for high-performance applications in a variety of home, office and server settings, and you'll find that they're well-suited to any situation that demands the use of a twisted pair cable.

Networx™ CAT5e Network Patch Cable is manufactured using 350 MHz Cat5e bulk cable, so you can rest assured that it provides the amount of throughput needed for even the most data-intensive applications. The Cat5e cable includes four 24 AWG unshielded copper twisted pairs, and it is UL certified and designed to meet TIA/EIA standards. The Networx™ Cat5e employs standard conductors and a highly durable and well-designed PVC jacket. It's built to prevent NEXT interference, and it utilizes short body, staggered Cat5e RJ45 modular connectors in order to produce the superior level of performance that today's systems demand. The Networx™ Cat5e has male-to-male contacts that are plated with 50 Micron gold, permitting the rapid flow of data available between the cable and any sockets that you might plug it into.

The Networx™ CAT5e Network Patch Cable is an excellent choice for a wide range of purposes. Voice-over-IP users will be happy with the consistent and stable performance that it provides, helping to reduce the potential for glitches in the line or dropped calls. Data center professionals will find the Networx™ CAT5e Network Patch Cable useful for cabling systems together. Home users will love the low-latency that the Networx™ CAT5e offers, a major benefit whether you're trying to watching high-definition streaming video or need a low latency level in order to keep up with your friends or ahead of your competition while playing your favorite multiplayer on-line video game.

Networx™ CAT5e is compatible with 1000 BASE-T, 100 BASE-T and 10 BASE-T adapters. It can also be used with 4/16 Mbps Token Ring (IEEE 802.5) and 100 VG-Any LAN systems. The Networx™ CAT5e works with 100 MbpsTP-PMD (ANSI X3T9.5), 55/155 Mbps ATM and voice systems too. It is compliant with U.S. standard TIA 568B specifications.
Cat 5 e cable is an enhanced version of Cat 5 that adds specifications for far end crosstalk. It was formally defined in 2001 as the TIA/EIA-568-B standard, which no longer recognizes the original Cat 5 specification. Although 1000BASE-T was designed for use with Cat 6 cable, the tighter specifications associated with Cat 5e cable and connectors make it an excellent choice for use with 1000BASE-T ethernet networks.
The 8 Position 8 Contact (8P8C) (often called RJ45) plugs and sockets are most regularly used as an ethernet connector. 8P8C connectors are typically used to terminate twisted pair cable.
A patch cable or patch cord (sometimes patchcable or patchcord) is an electrical or optical cable, used to connect ("patch-in") one electronic or optical device to another for signal routing. Devices of different types (ie: a switch connected to a computer, or switch to router) are connected with patch cords. Patch cords are usually produced in many different colours so as to be easily distinguishable, and are relatively short, perhaps no longer than two metres. Types of patch cords include microphone cables, headphone extension cables, XLR connector, RCA connector and 1/4" TRS connector cables (as well as modular ethernet cables), and thicker, hose-like cords (snake cable) used to carry video or amplified signals. However, patch cords typically only refer to those short ones used with patch panels.
A micrometre or micron (American spelling: micrometer; symbol µm) is one millionth of a metre, or equivalently one thousandth of a millimetre. It is also commonly known as a micron. It can be written in scientific notation as 1×10-6 m, meaning 1/1 000 000 m.
