100ft Gefen Optical DVI 1000HD Extender Kit from ComputerCableStore™. The ex-tend-it DVI-1000HD extends your DVI display up to 500 meters (1640 ft) away from your source. How it works
The DVI-1000HDS sender unit sits next to your computer, set-top box or DVD player source. Cables supplied with the DVI-1000HD connect your DVI source to the send unit. The DVI-1000HDR receive unit sits next to your DVI display - up to 500 meters (1640 ft) away. The display plugs into the back of the DVI-1000HDR receiver unit. One CAT-5 cable and a multi mode LC fiber optic cable (4 strand) connect the DVI-1000HDS and the DVI-1000HDR units to each other. The DVI-1000HD is HDCP compatible.
Package Includes: DVI, or Digital Video Interface Technology came about in 1999 as a result of the formation of the Digital Display Working Group (DDWG) a year prior. Their original mission was to create a standard digital video interface for communication between a Personal Computer and a VGA monitor. Recently, however, the consumer electronics industry began implementing DVD players, set-top boxes, televisions, and LCD/plasma monitors with DVI technology. High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) is a form of digital copy protection developed by Intel Corporation to prevent copying of digital audio and video content as it travels across DisplayPort, Digital Visual Interface (DVI), High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI), Gigabit Video Interface (GVIF), or Unified Display Interface (UDI) connections. HDCP does not address whether copying would be permitted by fair use laws. The specification is proprietary, and implementing HDCP requires a license.
